The Pro Truck Nationals (PTN) Season Opener is just around the corner at the PTN Heartland Nationals at Atoka Motorsports Park in Atoka, OK on May 23-25. Read on to view the latest updates on the 2014 PTN race schedule as there was a change due to the recent closing of Big River Sand Drags in Bonne Terre, MO.

The 2014 Pro Truck Nationals (PTN) series is excited to hit the track for a new season of racing. Unfortunately, there have been some changes to the PTN schedule & series for the 2014 race season. Everyone was looking forward to Race 2 at Big River Sand Drags in Bonne Terre, MO. PTN was recently informed by track ownership that the facility has been sold and will no longer be a sand drag track. Big River Sand Drags has a rich history of PTN action and we are saddened by this news, but we wish the best to the Merseal Family in their future endeavors and thank them for their service to the sport.

PTN would like to welcome Newtown Dragway in Newtown, Virginia to the list of PTN Partners for the 2014 race season. We will be holding the PTN East Coast Nationals at Newtown Dragway on August 1-2. This event has been in the works for months as a Special Event, and we are excited to bring PTN to the East Coast for the first time. Details for this event are in the works and will be posted soon.

PTN is also excited to announce that Little Sandy Raceway in Grayson, KY has offered to add a Thursday Test and Tune to the PTN Championship Weekend 2014 event on September 11-13. Following the Test and Tune will be an ATV 6’ Trophy Gambler & Car Gambler.

With the schedule rearrangement, this has made things difficult on the point series programs that PTN had in place for the 2014 season. Based on racer & sponsor interest, here is the rundown. The Pro Truck class will decide a champion over the PTN Championship Weekend 2014 at Little Sandy Raceway. The highly successful two-day PTN Championship Weekend format (Fri - Pro Shootout; Sat - Pro Truck) will be used with the highest points total from the two nights of racing being declared the 2014 PTN Pro Truck champion. The Proformance Prototypes 3.95 Index Pro ATV class will contest a Best 2 out of 3 point series with the races at Atoka, Newtown, and Little Sandy. The Kimbley Racing 3.5 Index, Ross Racing Pro Outlaw, and Mid-West Coatings Ironman classes will not be contested as a point series, but will be offered at certain events with bonus cash being wrapped up in the winner’s payout for these individual races.
