National Sand Drag News (NSDN) is an online magazine covering the sport of sand drag racing. NSDN’s full array of up to the minute news and race coverage can be found online at www.NationalSandDragNews.com. Here is a brief explanation of what NSDN covers. The fast growing motor sport of sand drag racing consists of race cars that are very similar to their asphalt drag racing counterparts racing down 300 feet long (100 yard) tracks with a sand/dirt surface. The headliners of the show are the Nitro-burning Top Fuel dragsters that cross the finish line in under 2.5 seconds and reach speeds in excess of 160 MPH. Although the Top Fuel cars are the headliners of the show, multitudes of grass roots bracket racers compile the largest racer group in the sand. NSDN focuses on the hottest properties in sand drag racing, including coverage of the Pro Truck Nationals (PTN) series and other large independent events. Other large independent races across the country are also covered. With the heat this time of year, most of the on-track action was contested in the cooler evening or morning time frames. The Saturday event went smoothly with Kyle Furgason (Pro 1 &amp; Pro Gambler) and David Markle (MP1 &amp; MP Gambler) taking multiple class victories. Unfortunately, technical gremlins plagued the Friday night point series event and the track went hot just for Test &amp; Tune later in the evening. Racers that were in attendance earned sign up points, and the October 5 Season Finale will now be a double points event. The Lemoore Sand Drags crew would like to give a big shout out to Christy &amp; Robert Garnas as well as the Rego Family for all their help.
