National Sand Drag News - NEW National Sand Drag News (NSDN) is an online magazine covering the sport of sand drag racing. NSDN’s full array of up to the minute news and race coverage can be found online at www.NationalSandDragNews.com. Here is a brief explanation of what NSDN covers. The fast growing motor sport of sand drag racing consists of race cars that are very similar to their asphalt drag racing counterparts racing down 300 feet long (100 yard) tracks with a sand/dirt surface. The headliners of the show are the Nitro-burning Top Fuel dragsters that cross the finish line in under 2.5 seconds and reach speeds in excess of 160 MPH. Although the Top Fuel cars are the headliners of the show, multitudes of grass roots bracket racers compile the largest racer group in the sand. NSDN focuses on the hottest properties in sand drag racing, including coverage of the Pro Truck Nationals (PTN) series and other large independent events. Other large independent races across the country are also covered. NSDN covers these events with live race updates, race results, news, features, race videos, and photos. https://nsdn.us/index.php 2024-04-28T16:28:52+00:00 National Sand Drag News editor@nsdn.us Joomla! - Open Source Content Management Dome Valley Releases October Showdown Race Info 2011-08-18T03:22:56+00:00 2011-08-18T03:22:56+00:00 https://nsdn.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=493&catid=68&Itemid=41 Administrator editor@nsdn.us Dome Valley Raceway has released the details on the upcoming 2nd Annual October Showdown at the Wellton, AZ track. Frederosa Racing’s Shane Sanford has purchased the Team Extreme Racing operation of Charlie Brown Jr. Shane will be making the step up to the Top Fuel in a brand new chassis that Charlie had put together, but had not seen a race track yet. Lots of new parts and pieces are in place to make this team a contender right from the start. Shane’s daughter, Ashley will wheel the team’s Top Alcohol Dragster with Dave McWilliams doing the tuning while long time Frederosa Racing crew chief Troy Schweers moves over to head up the Nitro effort for the newly renamed Frederosa’s Team Extreme Racing team. Lucas Oil & Red Bull are continuing their long time support of Frederosa Racing as their program continues to expand. Shane plans on making his initial hits in the car at the upcoming Dome Valley Raceway Test and Tune at the end of August while planning a competition debut at the Soboba Casino October event alongside his daughter, who will compete in Top Alcohol at that race.
